Grosseto attracts less attention from tourists but that does not mean it should attract less from property buyers. From the historical charm of the city to its beautiful windswept beaches, we look at why you will want to own a home in Grosseto.

Grosseto is a city and commune in Tuscany, Italy. Often, it is over-shadowed by the likes of Pisa and Florence. And so, it attracts far less tourists. Therefore, if you are looking for a property in Tuscany that is far away from large hordes of tourists trying to snap a picture of themselves holding up the Leaning Tower of Pisa every summer, then Grosseto should be on your radar.

What makes Grosseto distinct?

Beautiful Grosseto.

The city of Grosseto is distinct for its 2900 metre medieval walls that, following a rebuild in the 16th century by Medici, have stood the test of time and still wrap themselves around the city today.

If want you really desire from your Italian home is to feel immersed in the culture and the history, then you will adore Grosseto. In the city centre, you will find the elegant Plaza Dante. It is ideal for a bite to eat, a lick of ice cream, and to pick up a trinket or two. Grosseto is famous for its neo–Gothic Romanesque architecture, with the focal point being the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, a mock Medieval cathedral. Additionally, for some interest into the Etruscan civilisation, head to Museo Archeologico e dell’Arte della Maremma.

Therefore, your options include flying to Pisa and then getting the train or driving, approximately two hours. Who do we think would follow a property in Grosseto?

As beautiful as Grosseto is, it does not have nearly as many attractions to pull in tourists as other regions of Tuscany. But this is not necessarily a bad thing. This means that it will work well for people looking for a tranquil spot of Tuscany to call their own.
