A sparkling new marina

Larnaca has recently undergone a brilliant transformation from a rather industrial-looking city to a sleek and attractive one.

The main player in this makeover is the glitzy new marina that was modelled around the much-loved Limassol Marina. Here you’ll find a plethora of coffee shops and high-end restaurants serving both Cypriot and international food.

Beautiful beaches

Larnaca is abound with gorgeous beaches, many of which have been awarded Blue Flag status. This is an award given to beaches that fulfil certain criteria, such as water quality, lack of sewage or industrial discharge, surveillance of coral reefs, clean sand or pebbles and adequate waste bins.

One of the best beaches is Foinikoudes which has a wonderful 600-metre promenade lined with tropical palm trees, cafes and restaurants. It is also a great beach for scuba diving and discovering the abundance of sea life under the crystal waters, including seabream, sea bass and red mullet, crabs and, of course, octopus. You can also learn to dive on diving expeditions here.
