For the warmest sea in the Algarve, a large sandy beach and Spain just a 10-minute drive away, opt for Monte Gordo. The beach is lined with restaurants, which are perfect for a relaxed lunch. You could even pop to Spain for lunch if you wanted to! Property includes front-line beach apartments or villas and townhouses on the outskirts. Small apartments start from €150,000 and houses from €230,000.

Olhão
Olhão is a fishing town growing in popularity. Offering convenient access to beaches and Faro airport, it’s a great spot for a holiday home. You can enjoy the daily market here, as well as an annual shellfish festival and plentiful shops and restaurants. Apartments start from around €130,000 and houses from around €240,000.

Quarteira
Just a stone’s throw from glitzy Vilamoura lies the quaint town of Quarteira. It has a stunning beach with many waterfront restaurants and is a summer destination for many Portuguese people. Being so close to Vilamoura, you could take advantage of Vilamoura’s luxurious facilities, without paying a hefty price for your property. Apartments start at €170,000 and townhouses from €250,000.

Tavira is extremely popular with overseas residents, however, it is still possible to find affordable property here. Although its main beach is on an island, which can only be reached by ferry or water taxi, it’s a working city so is always buzzing with people. It’s also located just 40-minutes from Faro airport and is on the Algarve’s train line. Renovation projects start from €80,000. Apartments start from €160,000 and villas start from around €300,000.
